Clean and sophisticated

A New Look

Brief: to create a hig-end architectural statement garden room with border landscaping and an artificial lawn for essential putting green practice.

Executive director and golf enthusiast Alastair commissioned us to embark on an ambitious outdoor landscaping project which initially started with laying down a new brick paved sweeping front drive for his Cheshire home.  The project then extended to a complete reworking of the rear of the property where he wanted a perimeter border planting scheme to frame the a large, duo-textured rear lawn, with one element featuring a 5 hole putting green.

Centrepiece of the rear garden makeover was a stunning Plamiye all-season pergola with an aluminium frame finished in a matt charcoal grey finish.  The cool, clean architectural lines of this pared down pergola make a stunning ‘less is more’ statement in a generously sized garden.  Tucked into a corner at the far end, the expansive full height bi-fold doors create a flexible space for entertaining (and even work) in all seasons, and all weathers.

Featuring an electronic louvred roof and adjustable side panels, this stunning Pergola is discreet yet distinctive, and creates a brilliant modernist counterfoil to the traditional lines and features of the main house.

Interior details include a bespoke-built composite rear panel, for added style and texture, porcelain tile herringbone flooring and an indoor bar with shelving.

Pathway tiling from the pergola and around the side leads the way to the sweeping front drive, while in the main garden Alastair’s putting green area using close textured artificial grass at the far end of the garden provides him with his own space to stay on top form in all weathers.

Smart and sophisticated, Alastair’s outdoor living spaces are a masterclass in pared-down understatement.
